Follow Your Heart

I am at the age where there are a lot of big life changing decisions around me. From college and where I want to go, to what classes I want to take next year, or even what I want to do after college. There are days that are completely overwhelming. The one thing I can always trust though is that God is going to give me what ever test score, what ever passion, and everything else that I need to end up where He wants me.

When someone mentions me being a senior next year, it is very scary and honestly surreal. The thing that I have found that helps Keep me grounded and not freakout (as much) about it all, is the words of Jesus himself. I mean think about it. He was able to guide the Israelites out of Egypt and in the same way He is able to, and will, guide me to the right college, the right profession, the right state, etc., so that I can have the maximum amount of success in what He has paved out for me. Two or so weeks ago the pastor at my church said, “any plan that isn’t Gods plan leads one place. Mass destruction.” That hit me harder that I expected it to. It can be applied to so many different aspects of life. As I sat there in awe I began to recall different events, places, and even people that have been taken out of my life because it wasn’t God’s plan and would definitely have lead me to destruction. Not everything was easy to let go of at the time and there was a lot of questioning why, but now I can see the blessings that came out of those things.

You should always live your life for your self (and the glory of God). With that, you can’t let the opinions of others stop you from doing the things or going the places that God has called you to. He is the one that has your whole life planned out. He knows all the places you are going to go and all the things you are going to do. When a big, maybe life changing decision, is placed in front of you and you have no idea what to do, my advice to you is to souly listen to what God is saying to you and what He wants you to do. Go to your quiet place and ask Him for guidance towards the right choice and listen to what He wants you to do. Then, go. Go gO GO! You are called to that place for a purpose that is bigger than yourself. If there is a problem don’t even think about worrying. God will provide abundantly more than you need.

Six weeks and three days ago, my friends got back home from a three week trip to Australia! We all had a gut feeling that this was going to be truly a trip of a lifetime for all of them. When I first saw them when they got back, one of my friends told me that she was moving from Colorado to Australia and that she was leaving in six weeks. On this trip she felt God calling her to join the incredible community that was being built there. When she made this decision she had no place to stay when she got there, she wan’t going to have a job, she didn’t have a Visa, and she didn’t have a plane ticket to get there. All kind of important when beginning a new life in a new country. But because she went after what she felt God calling her towards, she left here with every single detail set in place. From who was picking her up from the airport (because she didn’t have a car there), to having a job lined up that she could start as soon as she got there! She listened to what God wanted done and He provided her with more than everything she needed to make this life changing decision happen! Yes! She is crazy! Yes she is incredibly inspiring! Yes God is amazing! And yes, I can’t wait for her to come back and tell me all about her new life and how incredible of a time she is having.

You see, if we can just set aside our worries and stop focusing on all the things that stand in our way, and start focusing on all the ways we could see God move in our life, our eyes and minds would shift. If we make this transition in our mind eventually we will be living out the life that we have been dreaming about. As long as we put full undivided trust in our creator everything is going to work out for our good. When we do not panic as a decision arrises in front of us, those around are are going to begin to see the peace, love, joy, light, and guidance, that our God provides for us in every situation every single day! With God by your side and when you give Him full control over your life, nothing can stop you from being who you were created to be.

Challenge:

Change your mind to see all the opportunities that God could move in your life instead of all the obstacles that could stop you.

Do the things that you are being called to do.

Go the places you are being told to do even if you don’t know why you are being told to go there yet.

Trust in the fact that everything will be provided for you in the name of Jesus!

Prayer:

Lord I thank you for the time we get to spend together each and every day. I thank you that you are all powerful and provide us with more than we can ever need. I pray that you would open everyone’s eyes to see all the opportunities you have to move in their life. I pray that when a choice surrounds each person that they would be reminded that everything is in your hands and that you will send them to the place where they need to be. I thank you for everything you do for us. I love you! Amen

Take away:

Follow your heart and Gods plan. Don’t even think about letting anything or anyone stop you. Keep pushing forward and you will always succeed because God is right there by your side!
