The Power of His Words

Preface:

The book of Isaiah has a central theme. That theme is God himself. From around Isaiah 40-60 God is encouraging His people that are in exile that were under worldly domination. As you can imagine, the people in exile were very discouraged and because of that I have found Isaiah to be a great place to read when someone is feeling discouraged about something or a certain situation. I really am excited to break this verse down with you and let you in on what it means to me and what went through my mind after reading it for the first time. I am going to start at the beginning of the verse and then work my way through it. I hope that this helps you understand just how powerful the word of God truly is.

Isaiah 55:11 says "'It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it.'"

"ALWAYS produce fruit".

Not sometimes. Not if you are perfect. Not if you pray everyday. But ALWAYS! There are no if, than, buts, or so's about the power of His word. No matter where you are in life, no matter how crazy things might be, no matter how far along you are on your walk with Him, His words will ALWAYS produce fruit. This is something that we can hang onto when we are asking why or questioning the goodness of God. Not once was something that God said used for bad or evil, simply because God is ALWAYS good. Sometimes we might question what the purpose for going through what we are going through is but we can have confidence knowing that every struggle has a purpose and that nothing is ever going to go unused. Just in the past year I have seen so many situations in my own life and in the lives of others around me be completely changed because of how a past situation was used. I am not saying that every situation is going to be used in a life changing way, some will and that is incredible and praise God when it is, but some are going to be used to teach you a small lesson that you are going to use and remember in the future.

"ALL I want it to".

Not some of the things. Not a couple. Not a few. But ALL! When I read this verse for the first time I immediately thought of God creating the earth and everything on it simply by speaking it into existence (Genesis 1:3,6,9,11,14,20,22,24,26,28,29). From the very beginning Gods word was powerful. ALL throughout both the New and Old Testaments we see example after example after example of Jesus using His words to perform all the incredible merciless that He did. When Peter was in the boat fishing and Jesus called him to step out of the boat and come to Him Peter was scared just as anyone would have been. But still he got out of the boat because he trusted that Jesus' words were true and that He was there for them (Matthew 14:27).When God send Jesus to live among us here on earth, it wasn't until ALL that was supposed to be done was done did God call Jesus to die on the cross for our sin and our shame, If there was still more to be done here on earth then the time for Jesus' crucifixion wouldn't have been the same because not ALL things would have been done yet. If God would have gone to school and been a student ever, He would have been every teachers favorite student because He would have never turned in work that was not done to the absolute best of His ability and until it was ALL complete.

"EVERYWHERE I send it".

Not only to churches. Not only to where one or two gather. Not only to the wealthy. Not only to the poor. But EVERYWHERE! I found this very encouraging. I have heard over and over that God will meet you wherever you are. It doesn't matter where you are physically, mentally, or spiritually, but He will always come to you when you cry out to Him, He will always be watching over you and protecting you, and He will always be one call away. No matter if Jesus was in Galilee or if He was in Judea, or anywhere in between, He was always there for all of His sons and daughters when they needed Him. When I hear that people haven't been hearing from God as much as they usually do or feel like God has forgotten them or anything like that (I am guilty of this too) I question if they have gotten too caught up in their search for Him that their hearts are no longer in a position to accept what He is trying to give or tell them. Time after time Jesus showed up to His decibels in ways that are not usually where we would find someone. He showed up to Moses in the form of a burning bush (Exodus 3:4), He came over all the believers that had meet on the day of Pentecost in the form of wind (Acts 2:2), He even showed up to Saul in the form of light outside the walls (Acts 9:3). When God has something to tell you or wants to show you something He is never going to withhold that information from you. He is going to give you all the information EVERYWHERE you go.

Prayer:

God I thank you that you have brought these people to this blog today and I thank you that you have had them read if for a specific purpose. God I thank you that all your words are true and are available to me all day everyday no matter where I am or what I am doing. I pray that every person that reads this is reminded of your glory and your power. I thank you that you ALWAYS use ALL situations EVERYWHERE for your good and your glory. You are truly an amazing God. I love you and thank you for absolutely everything you have done and will do.
