Life Through Water

Ezekiel 47:9-

"There will be swarms of living things wherever the water of this river flows, fish will abound in the Dead Sea, for its water will become fresh. Life will flourish wherever this water flows."

Swarms: move somewhere in large numbers-

We as followers of Christ go on missions trips in large groups. As we are on those trips and adventures we see and experience moves of God in vast amounts of people and through our selves. When God moves, very rarely does He only move in one person or thing. More often than not God moves in large groups or large groups gather when He is around. Luke 8:4 says it way better than i ever could. It reads, "Massive crowds gathered from many towns to hear Jesus, and He taught them using metaphors and parables" The other thing that this verse shows is how the use of our words and what we say on a day to day basis can effect more people than we think it can. It can change how a persons day is going when you smile at them and say hi. But in the same way it can change their day if you don't say hi or if you just walk by and glare at them instead. We need to be cautious of our words and actions every day.

Abound: exist in large numbers or amounts-

The power and presence of God is all around us and inside of us all day every day no matter what or who is around us. The words of truth that are written in the Bible are not just one two or three words, there are thousands and thousands of words that bring life into our lives when we read them. It is our choice if we believe them and act them out or not. When it is needed God gives us words to speak out into this world. There are many times when we might be faced with a situation or circumstance that we might not have words for. It is in these moments that we are guided by the Holy Spirit on what to say and how to say it.

Fresh: full of energy and vigor-

Not once in the Bible does it mention God getting tired of being around His people or performing the miracles He does day after day. He always longs to be with us longer and more often than we might think. If we don't give Him the time to be with us or work through us we are making His life more complicated. He will always find another way to get done what He wants to be done. If we simply allow Him to work in us or through us when He asks us to instead of freaking out and not letting Him do what He wants done the process that gets us to doing what we are supposed to do might be more painful and challenging than the original way that He had intended for us to go.

Flourish: an instance of suddenly performing or developing in an impressively successful way-

I could talk about so many different events that took place when Jesus was on Earth with us where he changed someone or somethings life from being down and not the best to way better than they ever thought they were going to live. In 1 Corinthians 4 Paul gives the analogy of the human body only being a single eye and how useless it would be. He explains that each body has been created to function in a specific way for a specific reason. When everything in your body is healthy and working properly you can flourish and live out the best life possible that has been designed for you and only for you.

Flows: move along or out steadily and continuously in a current or stream-

Gods love for us is never changing and never ending. From the second we handed our lives over to God to the second that we see Him face to face His love will flow through us and over us despite what others might tell us or what we tell ourselves. Nothing can or will ever change the love He has always had for us.

Everything is planned out to a T. Still to this day it amazes me just how creative and intelligent our Father is. We drink water. When we drink water everything that was in our mouth is washed away and eventually is no longer in our bodies. When we choose to speak life and truth over the lives of those around us and over our own lives there are SWARMS of living things wherever the water that we drink flows, blessings will ABOUND in our lives, for our words and tongs will become FRESH. Life will FLOURISH wherever our words are heard and life will FLOW our of our mouths with every word we speak.

Challenge:

I know that sometimes life can be hard and that sometimes we might not want to speak life into and over all things, but I want you guys to try and ONLY speak life. When something negative could be said or when a lie pops into your head or anything like that I want you guys to instantly replace it with words of life and encouragement and truth from God. Even if you have to stop exactly where you are and drop whatever you are doing to ask for the right words or what the truth really is, do it. You aren't going to wish that you hadn't because eventually it will become harder and harder to hold onto the things that are untrue and that don't bear fruit into your life.

Prayer:

Lord I just ask you to fill the minds, mouths, hearts, and souls of each person. I pray that every time they take a drink of water that they are reminded to speak life and only life into this world. You are so incredible and I thank you for everything you have ever done and for everything you will do. We love you so much. Amen
